Water-splashed landscape

Splendid highway, lush green vegetation on the sides, and you are zipping past this amazing sight on your vehicle....
hey, slow down... the clouds have just opened up and your windscreen gets drummed with the heavy drops. Your speed reduces to a crawl, you turn on the fog-lights. The driver may be cursing, but you, in the passenger seat, can now see a magical canvas unfold right in-front of you. The clear sharp green trees now become blurred. What you now see is what appears as a water-splashed painting.

I remember my childhood games...

We always tend to return to our childhood memories when we see kids playing. Just their simple innocent laughter is enough to open the memories floodgates.
I came across these children on the road to Tawang, Arunachal. They were having a great time, and my friends & I just blended in with them.
btw, this is my friend Ravi playing with the kids....

The Bangladeshi Panaroma

on cloudless days in cherranpunjee, you can view the vast green marshy expanse of bangladesh stretching far out to the horizon.
This view is from Khoram Hah, a good tourist spot at cherrapunjee.

Bihu Anondia, Bihu Binondia

It so happened that we were in Assam during this year's Bihu. But we really didnt have any time to visit the actual place of celebrations. We were sad about it when this bright lot stopped our vehicle. And with the slight indication from the driver, they started this Bihu dance.
Bihu is a festival celebrated by Assamese people, where they pray for a good harvest.

Nohkalikai Falls, Cherrapunjee

When we reached there, there was a faint cloud cover... then the cloud moved away sweeping our faces and the sun shone on this plunging beauty. Noh Kalikai Falls near Cherrapunjee also figures in the world's 100 best waterfalls - http://tinyurl.com/34g2mej.

Got the faint rainbow on this picture :)

On-road creche

you know you are in a very very small settlement, when toddlers play on the road. This is near Nohkalikai Falls, Cherapunjee. Absolutely no thoroughfare on this road, and these two kids are happily building up memories on the lines .."when we used to sit and play on the road..."
